AREA 6 (CALIFORNIA) TRUSTEE

AMERICAN PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION

Being an effective Area 6 Trustee is like being a good cook - it takes more than following a recipe.

Experience Matters!

I know what members want and need from their membership in the APA.

 From long experience
- with District Branches, State Associations, and the APA itself -
I know how to get it done,
either through existing channels or, when necessary,
by effectively challenging the system.

I am a tireless advocate for members.
I'm not afraid of taking a controversial stand in my advocacy for members.

APA Election - 2019

Voting opens Wednesday January 2
Voting closes Thursday January 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET

Your voice and your vote are critical in determining your representation on the APA's Board of Trustees.

APA election turnout has been poor, with no more than 20% of our general members taking the time vote.  Residents and fellows have less than 10% turnout!

Given the limited voter turnout, each and every vote is extremely important.  Please take the time to read the candidates' statements, and take the time to vote for the people who will help shape the future of APA and psychiatry nation-wide.
How to Vote

Paper or electronic balloting is made available to eligible voting members.

Voting takes only about 30 seconds.  Click on a link in an email the APA will send you, vote for the candidates of your choice, and you're done.

Make sure your contact information is up to date in your APA Member Profile.  If APA does not have your email address, make sure your mailing address is correct and you will receive a paper ballot.
Who Can Vote

Eligible voters are currently active voting members of the APA not designated as a Medical Student or International Member. Voting members of the APA are of the following member classification:

Resident-Fellow Member
General Member
Fellow
Distinguished Fellow
Life Member
Life Fellow
Distinguished Life Fellow
